Pen & Paper for Beginners
In Pen & Paper Roleplaying Games players get roles to play and experience adventures through oral storytelling.
Other than digital computer games these RPGs are inherently free for the players to design and roam the worlds they create, completely with out technical restrictions. In this digital age this form of gaming is still the only one to only be limited by our own imagination, improvisation and humor. Until a artificial intelligence is able to mime these characteristics, this analog medium will persevere the progressing digitalization.
Nevertheless there is a big problem: For Beginners the start of this kind of roleplaying game is especially hard. Many systems require a big amount of pre-education or reading to even start the simplest of games. With this many are afraid of the medium in itself and don’t start even if they would like to try.
So I invented Pentapaper. With its compact game design and many helping tools it provides a good start into an amazing and interesting hobby. Gamers are getting a guide book in which everything about the rules of this version of a pen & paper RPG is explained and also get educated about the basic information they need to play other RPGs. The game itself is based around a randomizer tool in the middle of it to help newcomers to decide about nearly everything. Let it be the name of the character they going to play or the setting itself. Then it’s just one idea for a story away to be started. Have fun!
Thank you for your time!
