I imagined SOIL to be a multidisciplinary place where ceramists could meet geologists, crafty children could converse with authors, artists could get learn from scientists, etc. SOIL host each month activities on a core theme : nourishment, communication, habitat, beliefs and religion, body health, gender, etc.
As I am talking about one of the four elements, the earth, I wanted the campaign and identity to have fundamental aspects. I chose a brutalist approach by using visuals from the internet, and edited them slightly to preserve their rough essence. I created a special atmosphere related to the spirituality we can cultivate in our relationship with the planet. Also, I wanted my work to be seen in an environment saturated by images, which explain my colorful palette choice.
Last but not least, I designed the SOIL font from the shape of a pot, and inspired by ancient cuneiform writing from Mesopotamia. I hope you enjoy the project.
