This week, I wanted to practice using visuals to create a mood. I decided the best way to do that was to create a fake Gig Poster for a band. I didn't want to work specifically off of a name so I did some word maps to try and decide.

I knew what genre I wanted to work in. I also know the feeling I thought the band would evoke in their listeners and what action it would cause. I then I created a web of thoughts that surrounded those and I tried to connect them. After creating the web, I landed with protest and beauty. I began to sketch out ideas.

From there, I went to the computer and started to create.

I experimented with band names, compositions and ideas. I fell in love with this idea of a ill-behaved woman snarling. I tried to contrast the edgy leather jacket, the tattoo, and the lip piercing with the soft pink hair and purple shirt. After receiving feedback from friends and colleagues, I felt confident with my final design.
