Titled A Peripheral Valley, the piece explores hidden nuances through a series of six images. It aspires to capture the ephemeral moments, trapped between the world we see and a darker state, hidden in the shadows, forever teetering and twisting in our peripheral: it gives body to those transient moments when we muse about things that cannot be put into words, things that make sense only in dreams and nightmares. The piece was inspired by ghostly mushrooms growing in the dark, the milkiest fish from the deepest leagues of the sea, and the white little critters that live in black caves. All existing, rarely seen. Three images consist of beings resembling humans: two are images of sculpted dolls, edited to arouse a sense of revulsion, as the not-quite human features falls into the uncanny valley.
