Mod-Pod Futures was a response to a brief which asked students to speculate and prototype possible solutions for the future of food and eating. 

Focusing on the possibilities of convenient nutrition to fit with our increasingly busy lives, the Mod-Pod fruits took inspiration from currently developing agar agar technology. 

Designed for the year 2050, Mod-Pods were conceived to maintain the sensation of chewing and eating real food, whilst being optimal in its nutrition - the ultimate on-the-go food of the future.

Crafted from hot glue gun by hand, these prototypes maintain a clear and jelly-like look, and is also designed with packaging to reflect a clean and minimalistic future. As this presents a highly utilitarian future, Mod Pod Futures seeks to challenge the

audience’s own perception of humanity’s relationship with food. To what extent does the enjoyment of food factor into our identity as humans, and should our productivity rule over

all aspects of living?
