A little something I made for Medway Open Studios Winter Festival 2012 to hand out to visitors.

 

As a printmakers resource we wanted to design something a little different and memorable due to many other studios also opening their doors this weekend. We wanted people to be able to take away something to look at when they got home that could easily fit in their pocket but provide all the information they needed to know.

 

We liked the idea of somehow featuring our lovely printing presses which are the main things people use when they visit us at Coal Shed Press. I developed a small square fold out piece that was easy to carry around and take away. 

 

Rather than printing onto a traditional paper stock I printed it on to tracing paper so that when all the information was folded up you could see hints of the presses and information inside, enticing people to unfold the piece and read it. We thought that designing something unusual would encourage people to keep the handout rather than just throw it away.
