Typographical art
Artist’s Statement
Inspired by the helpful online community and artists on Dribbble and Instagram. A personal project of mine that has been influenced by my interest in typography and the graphic communication course that I began this year at University of Reading.
I incorporated Helvetica and made use of vibrant colours, as I feel there is simply a lack of this celebratory attitude in a lot of the design work that I encounter every day.
Production techniques
I have created a gradient in Illustrator, which was then moved into Photoshop. Using the warp tool to achieve smooth curves, and later on adding a noise effect to the artwork. Regarding typography, I duplicated the layer and made use of a mask to blot out patches that are above the artwork, with the other type layer hidden behind and set to overlay.
