With the art of letterhead design slowly dying, this first
assignment for my Sophomore: Type II course was to cre-
ate a ficticious business and design the letterhead. But,
this was not to be a modern take on the letterhead but
an homage to the old ornamental, decorative style letter-
heads. I started out by pushing the ornamental style too
much and I needed to pull it back and focus on the typog-
raphy. I created 4 different variations on the Fox Brewing
Co. letterhead but I was not really happy with any of them
until arriving at my final design.
