Cada año, aproximadamente de abril a septiembre, el Mórbido Film Fest abre su convocatoria llamando a todos los realizadores cinematográficos de género a inscribir sus cortometrajes y largometrajes para obtener un lugar en la edición del respectivo año dentro del festival, el cual se realiza en los últimos días de octubre y finaliza una vez iniciado noviembre. Una característica de este festival es que cada edición trata una temática en torno a los subgéneros del terror y fantasía (como lo fue en 2015 la muerte y en 2016 el espacio), aunque en el año de 2017 se optó por una excepción ya que se celebraban los 10 años del festival, por lo tanto su imagen para convocatoria, la cual cabe destacar que es el primer vistazo gráfico que presenta la temática previo al cartel e imagen oficial, gira en torno a una celebración mórbida llena de fluidos y alimañas.

Each year, between april and september, Morbido Film Fest calls all filmmakers around the world to participate with their best horror short and feature films in order to be part of the best latin american fantastic film festival, which takes place on the last days of october and finishes when november is on the run. One of the features of this festival is that each edition has a main topic related to the subgenres of horror and fantasy (just like the death in 2015 and the universe in 2016), but unlike other years, 2017 was the exception because it was the 10th birthday of the fest. So, in the other hand, the desicion of the first graphic look of the main topic in that year, before the poster was even showed, was a horror party full of strange creatures and a green-slimmy-liquid cake
