26 Days of the Human Body

36 Days of Type is a yearly call for designers across the world to experiment and play with type.

As a product designer who prefers working with physical material, I wanted to challenge myself to work within the visual medium while exploring a topic I find incredibly fascinating - the human body. Over the course of this project, I learnt so much about anatomy and physiology that I would never have read about otherwise. I was also forced to be more effective and finish a piece of work every single day. One of the biggest challenges was coaxing letters out of body parts that are oddly-shaped or shaped completely differently to the letter. For the first time, I found myself developing a style of sketching.

One of my biggest takeaways from this project was to just keep going. Some letters were so much more difficult than others, and I had to keep reminding myself that 80% done is better than not done at all!
