Wasaviar - Wasabi Ball Packaging Innovation
This project aims at changing the physical form of a food, and designing a new packaging system for the new product. Our team chose KIKKOMAN Wasabi as the target. Wasabi is mostly seen in the form of soft paste in a Japanese restaurant or on a supermarket shelf. We decided to change the physical form from soft paste to balls. We named the wasabi balls "Wasaviar". Wasaviar's size and texture are very close to salmon roe's. The change of form helps a lot when customers want to control the quantity of wasabi poured out from the container, and it brings new alternatives for wasabi packaging.
