An ad film depicting Mangaluru through its activities and the dance-drama folk art form prevalent there, Yakshagana, to promote Karnataka.

I made this as my final film for graduation where the project was based on 'Karnataka Tourism'.
The overall idea of the project was to advertise Karnataka in the best possible way.

The above Ad film is just one part of a series I had planned to create since my personal take on the project was to promote Karnataka through the activities of its cities/regions and the performing arts prevalent in those cities/regions.

Karnataka as a state is divided into different regions and every region has its own performing art specific to it, for example :

1. Yakshagana, a form of theatre which narrates the story from Hindu epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana, originated from Coastal Karnataka.

2. Dollu Kunitha, an entertaining dance form that is accompanied by energetic beats of drums, originated from North Karnataka.

3. Ummattaattu is a traditional dance from Coorg made famous by Kodava women.

4. Chowdike Mela again from North Karnataka is a peculiar performance praising the Goddess Yellama.

For my project I took up Yakshagana as the art and Mangaluru as the city/region where the art is most prevailing.
