- It`s not always clear what it is better to talk with a new interlocutor​​​​​​​.

- People often listen to each other, but don`t understand. Because of this, there arise grievances and even aggression.

- Many people feel the fear of failure (rejection) when they want to meet someone, to communicate. As a result, they prefer to do nothing.

- When appointing a date, people some times do not come there, simply ignoring and even not warning their companion. This is especially true for digital communications.

To browse the photos, I chose the format that became classic for this genre - swiping cards. Swiping right means "like", to the left - "nope".

In the basic form, the card shows a minimum of information.

At the very beginning, I thought it would be good to remove all the information about a person from the card and leave only photos and distance. This could add to the process a bit of fascinating spontaneity (the principle of probabilistic reward - find out something interesting, or not). Also - realistic, since in real life we, usually, have no idea what the name of a person is, her profession etc ...

But anyway I refused this idea. The lack of basic information about a person could give rise to annoying scenarios of dating from the same questions in each new dialogue. That very interesting unpredictability could disappear.

Plus, during the user research, I learned that additional information significantly adds confidence to the initiator of dating and a sense of control over the situation.

One of the most popular reasons for unsuccessful acquaintances is the fear of failure. During the interview, I repeatedly heard that getting acquainted with the person whose profile is filled in is much easier. To put it bluntly, it's also close to me :) This adds a feeling of control over the situation, since you can immediately ask an interesting topic for communication, or simply understand that this person does not suit you.

On the other hand, not all write details about themselves in the profile, although they have such an opportunity. And paradoxically, some people get annoyed when new interlocutors start talking with the same thing: questions and comments regarding information in the profile of the person they are interested in. Such a paradox) But most of all, the users simply frustrate the short, single greetings in the genre "Hi)", "How are you doing?" ... and that's it. This is often perceived as shifting the choice of a suitable topic to the interlocutor.

How it is solved: when registering, the user writes one universal message, which will be automatically sent to his potential interlocutor when a new pair matches.

"Don`t forget hi ;)" is added wittingly. It hints at the fact that besides the greeting there must be something else.

After the pair has matched, the user sees a message from his new interlocutor in the dialog section. It doesn`t differ from the usual messages and looks natural.

In order to avoid misunderstanding, when automatic (and, as a rule, unconnected messages) messages appear in the chat, the following information was made:

If, for example, a guy enters the application, sees an automessage and answers it, that determines the content of the beginning of the chat. Then the auto message from the guy to the girl is not shown, after all the task is executed - the chat has begun.

If both users were online, saw each other's auto-messages, began to write an answer and the guy, for example, sent the message first, then the girl's replica will be shown as a quote for the guy's auto-message.

Among the already familiar functions for chats there is an opportunity to complain about the bad off-line behavior of the interlocutor. In the case of a dating application, this is a required feature. After all, a new guy or girl in reality can behave quite differently or even be not what he claims to be.

Many people experience difficulties in making acquaintanceships with new partners and (or) maintaining relations with the current one.

As the reasons can be both deep personal problems and simply absence of base knowledge and experience in these affairs. The first, of course, this is more difficult, but as for the second we can help with direct tips.

This thing is useful even to those who never thought about learning anything about communications. It`s an easy entry into the discipline: at the distance of one click there are answers to the questions that many users are facing.

Thus, teaching people to fight fears or doubts and helping them to become better, the app can earn greater loyalty in their eyes.

As it turned out in the course of the research: there are users whose dates failed because their partners simply did not come at the appointed time to the appointed place without any explanation. They are not a very large percentage (2 of the 18 respondents said about the problem), but their pain is quite strong. Such frivolous irresponsibility angered and offended people.

As a result, I developed a solution designed to guarantee the attendance of partners on a date, or at least encourage financially those of them who fulfill the terms of the arrangement. In addition, the Guarantor is part of the application monetization system.

Here's how it looks and works:

When a person is selected, the procedure for specifying details of the dating follows.

After that, the date partner in the Guarantor section receives a notification of the new offer.

If the proposal is rejected, the partner is informed accordingly in the Guarantor section. If accepted, a form of payment appears.

When the partner also contributes money, the process of accepting the proposal is completed and a corresponding notification comes.

And this is how the process looks on the part of the initiator after it was sent to the partner and she accepted it.

As already mentioned above, the money is returned for a meeting with a partner on a date at the appointed and time at the appointed place. 

How will the application understand that people have met? - With the help of check-in.

At the appointed time, the user at a specified place while next to the girl enters the Guarantor and chooses the necessary date.

There he can already make a check-in, thereby confirming that he came on a date, as agreed. 

To avoid fraud, check-in can not be made ahead of time

and especially in another place.

Also, to prevent fraud, the following is done: if a person comes on a date, hides in a secluded place (for example, in the toilet or around the corner of the building) and shortly before the expiration of the necessary time (15 minutes after the onset of the date), makes check-in, then his partner immediately will be notified of this.

Next comes the message about the result of the check-in

If one partner did not come on a date and did not make a check-in, then his money is transferred to another partner.

If both partners ignored the date - the money is not returned to anyone.

This is not only the earnings of the application, but also the motivation of users to take action. Just before the meeting, at the height of excitement, there may be a thousand reasons why now it is necessary to do something different and not to come. 

That is why the appointment date and the invested money can not be canceled ahead of schedule, and the changed circumstances should be adjusted to adjust for a date, and not vice versa. 

Clearly, everything happens in life, but we can not fit all of life with its unpredictability into one application. It can happen that you have to sacrifice something: money, new tasks or opportunities ...
