Solace Adhesive Bandages

Opportunity: Create a new package design for a current package that is dysfunctional and visually unappealing.

Solution: I chose to repackage adhesive bandages. Retrieving an adhesive bandage can often become a major hassle, as there are many steps involved. They are often unorganized in the box, the user may have to dig through the box to find the one he wants, and he has to open the individual bandage (which has a lot of paper) and place it on the wound.

My solution was to create a box in which the bandages are rolled up inside the box and the user can pull a bandage from the side of the box and tear it off at a perforation. The three slits on the side of the box keep the next bandage in place, so that the user can always grab another when needed. The individual bandages also have less paper in the packaging so that there is less garbage lying around after use. I named the product Solace, which means comfort or relief. The design gives adhesive bandages a more positive and uplifting appearance.
