Adrenaline Rush: Top Extreme Sports In New York
New York City is home not only to world renowned sports such as baseball, basketball, and hockey, but also outdoor adventure and action sports.  Thrill seekers are in for a treat in the big apple, with its rich array of extreme sports to do.  Here are some to try.

Kayaking on the Hudson River
A nonprofit known as Downtown Boathouse offers free kayaking on the Hudson River.  One only needs to check out any or all of their three locations: Pier 40, west of Houston St; Pier 96, west of 56th St; and Riverside Park at 72nd St.

Rollerblading the West Side Highway
Check out this bike path and bring your roller blades for a chance to soar down its 13-mile path spanning Battery Park until Fort Tryon Park.

A whole lot of fun at Chelsea Piers
Considered the big dog of all things sports and recreation in NYC, this is home to hockey, mainstream workouts, rock climbing, bouldering, sailing, adult dodgeball, fitness boot camp, as well as triathlon training.

Skydiving
Sign up for a tandem jump with one of the instructions at Long Island Skydiving Center, and expect to jump off the plane 10,000 feet above the ground.  The reward ahead: a bird’s eye view of the breathtaking New York countryside.

Racing for life
Satisfy your need for speed by visiting the New Jersey Motorsports Park track, opting for races of three or more adrenaline-filled laps around.  The hardest part is probably choosing between a Lambo or a Huracan.
