AudioSpread - Analogic Speaker For Digital Smarphone

AUDIOSPREAD

The project was realized during the competition held by Nutella and Wired Italia for the creation of new way to creatively up-cycle the Nutella jar.

AudioSpread borns with the idea of creating a playful object that creatively up-cycle the iconic Nutella jar. Since Nutella is a recurring element in the days of many people, we asked ourselves about which elements are recurring on people’s daylife.
At the end of this investigation, the answer was music; It does not matter ethnicity, cultural background or age, the music is at the base of different moments of our days. So we wanted to create an object that would enhance and exploit the jar material’s natural characteristic in an unexpected way.

Hence the idea of an intuitive and analogic audio systems for digital smartphones.

Taking advantage of the hollow walls of the jar, the music comes bounced up to the acoustic cone and then exited amplified. All without the aid of electronics or circuits but only using the shape and material of the jar and audio cone.
It also provide an alternative and nice way to harmoniously combine digital technology with analogical design.

This projects were realized along with fellow designer Quixing Zhang.

The soundwaves of the music, touching the walls of the jar, get amplified coming out louder.
