SEBASTIAN KOMACEK's profile

THEY ARE MAKING FOG OF IT.

The idea doesn’t only comes from the public space but from the public speech. The mechanism of self-foging can make any glasses in gallery misted. By using a pedestal as a drive motor i reflect an effort which is behind blurring the reality. Glasses are affected naturally by a heat and cold, but i react on unnatural of hiding the truth, misting, obscuring, misleading. At a first glance, fast and simple act of change explains a revealed pedestal, which displays an effort, complexity and premeditation.
Paranormal Archaeology - a visual lesson of yellow journalism*
7th April - 4th May, 2018.
Opening speech: János SZOBOSZLAI, art historian

Exhibitors: Viola FÁTYOL (H), Sebastian KOMACEK (SK), Dionýz TROSKÓ (SK), Jozef VANCO (SK) Coordinator: Bea ISTVÁNKÓ (H)

The exhibition is a probe into the world of disinformation. A visual guide on the way towards creating the only truth according to the current needs of an individual observer. Artefacts and standpoints considering the history written by the winners, distorted by the losers, and with the vested interests of those to manipulate a spectator. A reaction to the general information overload – the condition that provides space and an illusionary right of every individual to hold their “own truth“. The exhibition is an antipole or the right hand to the world of “alternative journalism“. Fact? Or fiction?
