Havtrygd - Visual Identity / Branding

  • A faithful companion

    Havtrygd is a specialist insurance company for fishing and coastal vessels. The company has sold security and trust to fishermen since its inception in 1927. 

    Kind's focus when we started to work on the organisation's brand development and communication, was very much on the security aspect. We found inspiration in the gannet. It's a bird that, like Havtrygd, sticks closely to a fishing vessel. This formed the basis for the visual profile and for Havtrygd's slogan 'A faithful companion'.

    Market player
    Havtrygd sees itself as part of the family of fishermen's organisations, at the same time as it is a market player in the marine insurance segment. The reason for starting Havtrygd was that fishermen were not being offered satisfactory insurance coverage. They therefore started their own company based in the local community. 

    Decisive role
    Insurance premiums are a considerable expense, and it is therefore important that the fishermen know the market and how it affects premium levels. It is no secret that the interest taken by fishermen in premiums and their participation in the mutual insurance companies has played a decisive role in keeping down premiums.
