Project - National Mission for Clean Ganga, biodiverdity conservation and Ganga rejuvenation,Wildlife institute of India.

Sites- Varanasi and Narora , Uttar Pradesh

As an intern at the Wildlife Institute of India, my job was to develop ideas to spread awareness among the locals of the cities, where Ganga is extremely polluted.

As an art student, I decided to spread this message through Wall paintings.
Wall paintings have an impact on people because it is seen by the locals on a regular basis , as it has been the main form of communication in society since the stone age.

Alongside my component team members chose two specific sites for this purpose- An active ghat(Rajghat) in Varanasi and the Railway station at Narora, Uttar Pradesh.

This painting was created in collaboration with a group students from Visual Arts department, Benares Hindu University.

Our aim through these wall paintings is to educate the local communities about the value of aquatic biodiversity of Ganga River and Foster public awareness about the river ecosystem, its status and resources.

As a result, we observed a development of interest among the locals regarding the biodiversity of Ganga and an empathy towards the ecosystem of  'holy Ganga' . " कछप है ख़ास, गंगा को रखे साफ़ " slogans like these have been accompanied alongside the paintings.
