Pink and navy blue is probably my favourite colour combinations and tigers are one of my favourite animals. The colours really directed the painting to its final product.
I wanted the dark Prussian blue to grab your eye, with the background directing your attention to the bright pink (bordering on orange) at the center of the work. The actual stripes of the tiger actually blur and blend into the other colour to create a more textured look, creating the illusion of fur while not taking away from the striking colour choices.
