Mythological Movie Poster

For this project we were to create a movie poster based off our zodiac sign. I decided to use my Chinese zodiac which is a dragon, and create a half/human half/dragon.

I used all stock images for this project. Starting off with this photo as my base, I added some extra canvas space to later make room for a title.

I then painted black over the added canvas, masked in dragon-like eyes over the original eyes, and manipulated the nails to look more like talons.

Next I added the main aspect which was the scales. I used splatter brushes while masking to give a more textured feel. I also added some extra splatter paint at the top and bottom.
