WAR ASSOCIATION

WAR ASSOCIATION

War Association is a textual imagery piece.
A war declaration broadcasted by Mr. Chamberlain, Prime minister of Britain at the time, on 3rd September 1939 at 11:15 after Hitler refused to retrieve the German troupes from Poland borders at 11.
The podcast has a very looming eeriness to it. A sense of calm before the storm. You hear Chamberlain explaining as to why the nation has taken such a step and how it was necessary. One can only imagine hearing this over the radio.
But what the video tries to achieve is to disorient you from the text with images. Images that are completely connected to the text and make total sense but do not make sense to the context of the words.
The images are placed keeping in mind the various laws of Assiociationsim. The understanding of the puns and metaphors, the phonetic similarities and all the laws differ from person to person keeping in mind their space and experiences, but the places they coincide are the unseen unheard unfelt bridges of similarities and understanding, where certain part of experiences of the audience has collided or come across the same touch points as I have.
