For this assignment we were asked to create a living area and a shop at a vicarage. The house itself was close to a church and was centered at one quiet and sleepy town. I thought it would be kind of fun to shake things up in this little town. So my idea was to make a secret prohibition Jazz bar called Satchmo.
Of course it had to be hidden for noisy people so we created a cover-up. A bible store was build in front of the bar and the passage way was hidden behind bookcase. We chose some very dark colors and concentrated on the era of prohibition. Think gangsters and boardwalk empire ;).
I really liked the result and it's the kind of bar I would love to hang out.
The decoration comes from Marcel Wanders, Tom Dixon and Philippe Starck. The wallpapers are from Hooked on walls !
