Editorial Illustrations for H.G Wells The Star

Tarot Card Design - Editorial Illustrations from "The Star" it's an 1897 apocalyptic short story by H.G. Wells

The Tarot Card idea came from looming threat of the star being what it is, it is determined that the star would either hit the Earth or pass by at close proximity, which would lead to apocalyptic consequences. Each card represents an aspect of the story and together embody an summarised fortune telling of the story but as with fortune telling the cards can be interpreted in a dew different ways.

Death: Typically it implies an end, possibly of a relationship or interest, and therefore implies an increased sense of self-awareness.

Devil: It represents being seduced by the material world and physical pleasures. Also living in fear and domination.

The Lovers: The Lovers represent relationships and choices.
