Golden Tears

I am proud to present you my recent experimental, personal project - the Golden Tears.

It was born from my fascination with the gold and black combination.
And I have chosen the most beautiful medium I could - woman's body.

In this project, I wanted to explore shapes, light and composition to finally create an intriguing series of illustrations.

The head model and textures come from the Wikihuman project.

the Golden Circle.
Latest Gost in the Shell geisha-inspired circle shape.
It turned out to be my favourite one - I love how this simple shape came out to be very intriguing.

Golden Rain.

Cráneo de oro.
___

the Necklace.
Oriental inspired necklace-like pattern.
___

Acherontia atropos.
When I was younger I was fascinated by insects. The Death's-head hawkmoth was one of my favourite ones, although I have never found it in nature. The skull shape makes it a very intriguing species.

the Eye.

Flower of Life.
While developing this project another idea came to my mind. What if these gold painted patterns are actually jewellery painted directly on skin? Or maybe more like jewellery shadows. Or actually jewellery tattoos. That's how this illustration came to life.

___

Morning sun.
Face lighted by morning sunrays breaking through the window blinds. In gold.

Golden Silence

Illustration inspired by my lovely wife and her beautiful freckles.
___

the Golden Touch
What if everything you touch turns into gold?
___

Wireframe.
I just couldn't resist to make this one. A lowpoly-like wire shape mapped on the face.
This one was tricky to make. I finally discovered that it required camera mapping to get the proper, straight and uniform line effect.
