Univers Type Specimen Book

Univers is a realist sans-serif typeface that was created in 1957 by Adrian Frutiger. Also popular during this era, was the pop art movement. Pop artists set out to find traces of despair in the mediated world of advertising, cartoons, and popular imagery at large. An artist that significantly impacted this movement is Roy Lichtenstein. His work is heavily inspired by comic books and the American culture, using clean lines and primary colors. Lichtenstein and the Univers typeface both made an everlasting impact on design and pop culture during the 20th century. Therefore, this specimen book is set up in a manner that is inspired by the comic book style.
