Egg Scale Deconstruction

This is a quick sketch of a conventional egg scale that was used to weigh chicken eggs.  The objective of this sketch was to discover the basic shapes and shadows that were present in the contraption's character.
This was the first version of designing the egg scale on Illustrator.  I experimented with line weights and fill opposed to stroke options.  I also had to pick a word that properly exemplified the object and the theme used in the design.
The next step of the process was to de-construct the object, while keeping the form and understanding of what it is.  I also chose a better word for the project that helps describe it's history a little better.
The final product was to pick and choose different parts of the egg scale and implement them into a design system.  I chose to use the Fibonnaci sequence as my ordering system for this project.
