This is an idea I wanted to do for a long time. Do a portrait of the same subject in many different styles and techniques. For a long time I could not decide who I should draw, paint, and sculpt. I was thinking - It should be a controversial person , so I could have an open field, showing different approaches to the images I am going to make.
I got the idea from one bad politician in my country. This politician was talking about Mr. George Soros as if he was the devil on earth, and recently changed his opinion, he meets him often, and he is suddenly very fond of him.
So here are my exercises in style with portraits of the controversial millionaire philanthropist  George Soros.
Exercices de style (French), or Exercises in style is the title of a very interesting book written by Raymond Queneau
watercolor caricature.
scratchboard (digital), caricature, the same sketch like above.
The base for this portrait is the watercolor portrait I made, just put this grey-green background and continued painting digitally over it. I have stages of the work aa an animation on youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs0LmeDwDcw&feature=youtu.be
this is a small, very simple pencil sketch, the size is about 7x7cm (3x3inch)
a pencil sketch
the 4 portraits in the top row are watrcolor portraits based on the same sketch, and the other ones are combinations of 2, 3, or all 4.
