Everyday we urbanites and commuters subconsciously take over the city and arrogate space and fixtures, to rest, read, snack, or talk to someone somewhere else. Going on with our lives, we naturally make the artificial environment ours, and take over built environments through our behaviour.

Inspired by countless thoughtless acts, the Stop & Go commuter fixtures pop out of walls on subway train platforms and other transient spaces to accommodate city users’ temporary activities. The series of screens, seats, shelves, foot rests, perches, and semi-private zones stimulate thoughtless engagement with space by proposing familiar cues.

As the irregular compositions of fixture sets integrate into the urban rhythm, they allow users to naturally engage with artificial space. Facilitating the sharing of public space while addressing the demand for privacy in crowded places, they support seamless commuting experiences.
