Specialized 2018 Tarmac

For the 2018 Tarmac I traveled to Freiburg, Germany to support the Denk team who was working with Specialized to make a lighter, faster and more Aerodynamic race bike. The project was behind schedule and I was brought in to finalize the design and bring it to production.

I worked on the frame surface model, completely designed the multiple size forks for both rim and disc brake versions, and created the large size frames (58 and 61cm) based on the initial 56cm frame. I worked diligently to bring the project back on track and meet production and release dates.

This project was a proving ground for me, where I faced ambiguity in project scope, CAD challenges and working with a new team and manufacturing engineer to hit tight deadlines. I learned to better think on my feet and move to the next step quickly and confidently. I am thrilled with the end result and universal praise the product received after we were able to launch it on time.
