Re-thinking Facility Management user journey.

I was recently tasked with improving the flow of a facility management software, Joluud. So guess what I did, re-did the entire UX. All the way from user research to fresh wire-frames.
Here's a summary of my thought process.

My design process was:
1. Strategize [Industry research | stakeholder interview | project objectives]
2. Empathize [User research | user needs | use cases]
3. Ideate [Blueprint | core features | business model | user flow | wireframes ]

The 3 users were facility managers, tenants and technicians. The project objectives meeting provided a guide of how to think throughout the project. The goal was to nail user on-boarding, user adoption and clean workflow for all users.

(use the red arrows as pointers to questions I asked or ways I improved the process.)

1.User on-boarding

Objective was to make onboarding of users easy, convenient, straight forward and fast.

Here's a wire-frame of my user on-boarding thought process for a facility manager.

Below is an image of the former interaction for a tenant with the software.

Here's a wire-frame of the revised tenant interaction. It's designed to serve the tenant needs within first interaction.

2.User adoption

Objective was to solve user problem within the first interaction with Joluud, and make it exciting enough for them to wanna come back. Integrate Joluud into their day organically. Keep in mind improving adoption by the tenant directly translates into better adoption by the facility manager.

The key activities for a facility manager are within the dashboard, maintenance requests, action on the requests and facility info.

Below are a few wire-frames that that show part of the process that addressed the user adoption objective.
3.Clean workflow

Objective was to give a feeling of organization and structure, and make the process more exciting with a sense of achievement.

Below are a few wire-frames that that show part of the process that addressed the clean work flow objective .

Key notes:
More procedural
Radio buttons instead of drop downs
Better communication
Intuitive drag and drop for the task list that's not far from the existing project management tools
Gamification on notifications that are designed to look like those of our social media platforms
Better use of main space for key activities
Better desirability with imagery taking over the blog space.

The team was super impressed, so stay tuned for the next phase which is pixel filled mock-ups with definitely more color:)

PS: I really struggled with preparing this project for a Behance post. Trying to strike a balance between images and text... because with UX thought processes need to be explained. Looking for recommendations on how to post purely UX projects on Behance.
