Postcards: An ongoing series
I. Here's To New Beginnings
A culmination of my love and fear of trying new things. I chose to caption it simply as “sunrise” because I wanted to portray that I would want to wake up to good memories such as the one illustrated.
II. Birthday Greetings
This was a piece commissioned by Andrea, a high school batch mate of mine, who wanted me to illustrate her girlfriend’s favorite animal, a horse, as a birthday greeting card; given this, I decided to put the horse on a pedestal and made it the only animal in the illustration to highlight the sentimentality of Andrea’s girlfriend towards the horse. Moreover, Andrea mentioned that her girlfirend was a big fan of the movie “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron” (2002), so I decided to translate the horse in this illustration.
