Honored to have been invited to exhibit at the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi — Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah – and within the events of the eighths edition «Essence» of the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial 2018.
The concept
The exposition consists of five works dedicated five elements. The theory of the five primary elements has been originated in medieval natural philosophy and was relevant at the time. Earth, Water, Fire and Air were considered as the primary elements, which comprised foundation of the world. Nowadays we know that each of the forces of nature is a separate system and actually consists of many other elements. This scientific description of each force of nature is the essence of the calligraphic artworks. The works are made in the style of cyrillic ligature. Round canvases are symbol of Planet Earth.
Идея
Экспозиция состоит из пяти работ, посвященных пяти элементам. Теория пяти элементов зародилась в средневековой натурфилософии и была актуальна в те времена. Четыре стихии (земля, вода, огонь, воздух) считались первоэлементами, которые составляли основу мира. Пятой стихией считался эфир. С точки зрения современной науки известно, то, что раньше считалось основой, сейчас является отдельной системой и состоит из множества других элементов. Именно это научное описание каждой стихии, раскрывающее ее сущность и лежит в основе каллиграфических работ. Работы выполнены в стиле кириллической вязи, а круглая форма холста символизирует нашу планету.
Essence of Earth
The soil cover of Earth covered all surface of continents and islands. It is characterized by high density of life and large species diversity of living beings inhabiting it. Most circulated elements in soil cover are oxygen, silicium, aluminium, ferrum, carbon, calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium, nitrogen. At the heart of the artwork is the image of tree. Сущность Земли
Почвенный покров Земли покрывает всю поверхность континентов и островов. Он характеризуется высокой плотностью жизни и большим видовым разнообразием населяющих его живых существ. Наиболее распространенными в почве являются такие элементы, как кислород , кремний, алюминий, железо, углерод, кальций, калий, натрий, магний, азот. В основе работы — образ дерева. Essence of Water
Water is a chemical compound of hydrogen and oxygen. It fulls over 70% of Earth's content. Water is called ice in its solid condition, and called water vaper in its gas condition. At the heart of the artwork is the image of waves. (materials used: canvas 1 meter in diametr, acrylic paint, brushes)
Сущность Воды
Вода - химическое соединение водорода и кислорода. Занимает свыше 70% всей площади Земли. В твёрдом состоянии называется льдом, а в газообразном — водяным паром. В основе работы — образ волн. (материалы: холст 1 м. в диаметре, акрил, кисти)
Essence of Fire
Fire is an intense process of oxidation, accompanied by the release of thermal energy. It requires fuel, de-electronating agent and temperature for fire to burn and exist. Fire is the main phase of combustion process. Combustion process is still the main source of energy in the world and will remain so in the foreseeable future. Сущность Огня
Огонь – это интенсивный процесс окисления, сопровождающийся выделением тепловой энергии. Для возникновения и существования огня требуется топливо, окислитель и температура. Огонь является основной фазой процесса горения. Горение остаётся основным источником энергии в мире и останется таковым в ближайшей перспективе. (материалы: холст 1 м. в диаметре, акрил, кисти)
Essence of Air
Air is a mixture of gases that form the Earth's atmosphere. Mainly it consists of nitrogen and oxygen, also of argon, carbon dioxide, neon, krypton, methane, helium and hydrogen.At the heart of the composition is the image of the atom, as a symbol of the microcosm. Сущность Воздуха
Воздух – смесь газов, образующих земную атмосферу. Главным образом азота и кислорода, а также аргона, углекислого газа, неона, криптона, метана, гелия и водорода. (материалы: холст 1 м. в диаметре, акрил, кисти)
Quintessence
Quintessence is the basis, essence of essences. Everything that surrounds us has certain structure and consists of something. The smallest unit of structure is the elementary particle. From the point of view of modern science, an elementary particle is a particle that cannot be divided – that is the foundations of which everything is composed. The artwork shows the standard model of elementary particles – a theoretical construction in physics which describes the interactions of these very fundamental particles: quarks, leptons and bosons. At the heart of the artwork is the image of the atom, as a symbol of the microcosm. (materials used: canvas 1,5 meter in diametr, acrylic paint, brushes)
Квинтэссенция
Квинтэссенция – основа, сущность сущностей. Все окружение имеет некое строение. Минимальная единица строения – элементарная частица. С точки зрения современной науки элементарная частица – это частица, которую нельзя поделить, из них складывается все вокруг. В работе отображена стандартная модель элементарных частиц – теоретическая конструкция в физике, описывающая взаимодействия кварков, лептонов и бозонов. В основе композиции – образ атома, как символ микромира. (материалы: холст 1,5 м. в диаметре, акрил, кисти)
