Completed for Junior: Three-Dimensional Problem Solving,
this project more than anything was designed to acquaint the
students with the recent Letterpress studio. The assignment
was to create a promotional poster for a fictional, or non-fict-
ional event, and to design it in the classic, "Broadside" style
with some sort of three-dimensional shape that the viewer
can then cut-out. We could then choose two different methods,
in which to take our design from the computer so it can be pri-
nted on the letterpress, one, via pressure-printing, and two,
via polymer-plate printing. I decided to design for the polymer-
plate print and chose a subject matter that was familiar to me.
I wanted my poster to read true to the Broadside-style with a
push towards the Skateboard-Punk style as well.
