Using just one onyx ball, several colored gel filters for the flash and a small LED, I created a series of fake images of the Solar System. In this project there is the Sun and all the planets of the solar system, with the exception of the Earth, because the onyx ball is completely different from the Globe :)
With the rings of Saturn I had a great tinkering ... I used a long exposure and a small LED from a cheap Chinese lighter hung on a string. To adjust the brightness of the LED, I used a cap from the black marker. The difficulty was to unroll the LED in the most flat orbit around the onyx ball ..
My experiments with color gel filters, flash, and camera settings made it possible to make the ball look like each of the planets...
Finally I decided to shoot "The Sun", but it turned out to be more difficult than I thought.
The ball can not be illuminated from the inside, so I had to look for another way to create the effect of a fiery glow ...

But after many unsuccessful attempts, I came to the conclusion that the most correct output would be to shoot separately the glow and the ball, and then combine the two frames in Photoshop....
