The mystic mist in the morning
Mist is very mysterious nature. It can be seen but can not be seen, and can be touched but cannot be at the same time. The mystique of mist makes people feel calm, serenity and gives inner peace in a sensuous way, which can not be found in the life of a contemporary city. The MYST has been designed to suggest people feel those emotions much closer to their arid modern life.

안개는 동서양을 막론하고 신비로운 감성을 지닌 자연물입니다. 눈에 보이지만 보이지않고, 만질 수 있을 것 같지만 만져지지 않습니다. 이러한 신비로움을 가진 안개는 그 태생으로 인해 안개를 보는 우리로 하여금 고요함, 차분함과 같은 마음의 평온함을 감각적으로 전달해줍니다. 현대 도시에서는 도저히 찾을 수 없는 이런 안정적인 감정들을 일상에서도 쉽게 찾을 수 있도록, 우리의 피부와 함께 마음에도 촉촉함과 고요한 평화로움을 제품을 통해 전달하고자 하였습니다.

Serenity and inner peace from the mist
Mist is mysterious. The sensual uncertainty makes it's observer feel strange emotions. Cloudy caused by mist become one's focus inside of him/herself and the atmosphere of the air with mist, heavier than normal air, leads to the genuine inner peace of human being by making people's messy mind calm down. MYST is a product with the emotions of mist.

안개가 신비롭습니다. 감각적 불명확성은 관찰자로 하여금 묘한 감정을 불러일으킵니다. 안개로 인한 시야의 흐림은 곧 온전히 '나'에 대한 집중으로 이어지고, 공기보다 무거운 안개와 주변 공기는 곧 어지러운 현대인들의 마음을 고요하고 평온하게 진정시켜 내면의 평화로 이끌어줍니다. MYST는 이런 감성을 현대적으로 재해석한 기능성 오브제 입니다.
How to use
Behave like having a cup of tea
1. Put water into the case and put the cap on
2. Transfer it to the main body part and separate case and it's cap
3. Cover main body part with case ('Click' sound will be heard) and put the cap of the case in front of the plate
4. MYST will activate after sensing the closure of its main body

1. 통에 물을 담은 후 뚜껑을 닫습니다.
2. 물을 본체에 옮겨 담은 후 통과 뚜껑을 분리합니다.
3. 통은 본체에 '딱'소리가 나도록 닫은 후 뚜껑은 전면의 홈에 맞춰 놓습니다.
4. 닫힌 통을 감지한 본체가 안개를 만들기 시작합니다.
How does mist come out
Sequences about how mist flows inside after being made
The mist came from the bottom is the most significant character of MYST. MYST transfer mist in 3 steps.First, mist can easily come out thanks to the pressure of the small space of the insert part. After that, mist stays and flows between the inner body and outer body and flows out through the hole of the outer body. By flowing through these 3 steps, the density, speed, and amount of the mist can are optimized.

안개가 밑에서 나오는 것은 MYST가 가진 가장 큰 특징 중 하나입니다. MYST는 총 3단계에 걸쳐 안개를 이동시킵니다. 내부 인서트를 통해 1차적으로 안개를 생성 후 좁은 길을 통한 압력의 증가로 내부의 통을 쉽게 빠져나오게 한 후 외부로 1차적으로 나온 안개가 외부 통 & 내부 통 사이를 머물다 외부 통의 틈새 사이로 나오게 됩니다. 이 과정에서 안개의 밀도와 속도 배출량이 최적화되어 나오게되는 것입니다.
Copper to sterilize and warm up water
Semi-permanent sterilizer: warm copper that increases evaporation at the same time
MYST is not a just emotional objet. MYST has 2 attractive strength in availability because of the 'Copperplate inside'. The copperplate warms up water to about 5~60℃. This enables water to evaporate more and sterilize semi-permanently, because of copper's own material character, creating safe and clean mist.

MYST는 단순한 감성 오브제가 아닙니다. MYST는 가열된 구리판을 이용해 2가지 장점을 가집니다. 우선 물 온도를 50~60도로 따뜻한 수준으로 물을 가열시킵니다. 이를 통해 물의 증발을 수월하게 만들며, 동시에 높은 온도와 구리 소재의 살균 특성을 통해 별도의 살균제가 없이도 반영구적으로 물을 살균시켜 깨끗하고 안전한 안개를 만들어냅니다.
Feeling of being inside of the MYST
In the art of Asia, especially in Korea, there always has been a small man in traditional landscape painting to help observer feel being inside of the painting. MYST has a metal polished sphere. It reflects and projects user which means that users can feel of being inside of the mist through the sphere that reflect them.

동양화의 수묵화, 특히 한국의 미술에는 항상 그림의 한 구석에 관찰자를 반영하는 사람을 그려 그림을 보는 사람이 그림 속에 들어가있는듯한 느낌이 들도록 합니다. MYST 통의 뚜껑에는 유광 구가 있습니다. 이는 제품의 사용자를 투영해 이들로 하여금 마치 자신이 안개 속에 들어가있는 느낌을 받을 수 있도록 합니다.
Behavioral Motive

Having a cup of tea offers a different kind of calmness and rest of having a cup of coffee. When transferring water, by seeing and hearing water, we feel natural serenity and peace that can not be felt in the modern city life. To suggest the serenity and peace of mist more clearly, MYST used the behavior of 'Tea ceremony' which shares the same emotional context of mist.

차를 마시는 행위는 커피와는 또다른 휴식과 평온함을 제공합니다. 따뜻한 물을 컵에 조금씩 따를 때, 물을 보고 물소리를 들으면서 우리는 평온함을 느낍니다. 동시에 따뜻한 온기를 경험함으로서 차는 마시는 사람에게 현대 사회에서는 느낄 수 없는 자연속의 잠깐의 휴식을 경험할 수 있습니다. MYST는 안개의 평온함을 행동적으로 전달하기 위해 유사한 문맥을 지닌 '다도'에서 행위적 모티브를 차용하여 안개가 가진 고요한 평화로움을 보다 선명하게 전달하고자 했습니다.

Though mist itself is very unclear, the emotional value of it is very clear enough. Inner peace and serenity of which can not be found in our modern life can be easily found in the nature of Asia and traditional lifestyle including fashion and foods. MYST has been designed to express the emotions evoked by mist through visual languages of Asian cultures.

안개는 흐릿하지만 그것의 감성적 가치는 명확합니다. 도시 어디에서도 느낄 수 없는 고요함과 내면의 평화로움. 이들은 동양의 다양한 자연 환경들과 전통(과거의) 의식주 문화에서 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있는 것들입니다. 이러한 감성들을 이미지로 해석하고 제품에 담아내고자 하였습니다.

MYST의 고요한 평화로움을 색채화 소재의 시각적 언어로 해석하였습니다. 조용하지만 분명하게 고요함을 말할 수 있는 저채도의 차분하고 평온한 색상과 따뜻하면서 자연스럽고 현대적인 소재들에 대해 리서치를 진행하였습니다.

Contemporary C1-curve Refined Minimalized
Regardless of the meaning of any objets, they are being used in modern and contemporary spaces. Because of this, formative aspect of the product has to be very refined and minimalized to be fit in any space in modern life. MYST has been designed in very well-refined minimal contemporary style while having serenity at the same time.

제품이 사용되는 공간은 철저히 현대적인 공간입니다. 그렇기에 제품의 조형적 언어는 절제되고 군더더기 없이 현대의 어떤 환경과도 어울릴 수 있어야 합니다. 평온함을 간직하면서 동시에 현대적인 형태에 대해 시각적으로 연구하였습니다.
