For my senior thesis in the Bachelor of Arts Multimedia at McMaster University, I tried to tackle the problem of how Artists (both traditional and new media artists) mediate themselves through the internet and new media. The intent of the larger project was to ask if how we mediate ourselves through social media is how we are actually seen or if artists today are creating work specifically for social media, creating a shallow work portfolio based on what people will like (or gain the most followers etc.).

The following piece was one of three created to question this relationship between people and technology. 

This piece started out as a daily art challenge. And from the desire to combine writing and drawing into something for social media. Eventually gaining 300 engaged followers over one month using hashtag optimization as well as proper account management techniques.
