Alone: The Music Video Launch
This particular project was commissioned by singer-songwriter Martti Franca, a singer-songwriter based in Manila with a passion for conveying poetically-narrated situations of the typical hopeless romantic. For his long-awaited music video release for his song "Alone", I was given freedom to approach and visualise the song and its overall theme in any way I deemed fit. Taking details from the single's music video, I focused on projecting the song's overarching theme and stuck to one objective: branding the experience of forbidden love. Seeing that the video involved two main characters and a lot of objects and activities that symbolised the jest of their whirlwind romance, I decided to focus on three components: the characters themselves, the objects from their activities, and the setting.
In order to project the atmosphere of the single and its theme, I took on creating an inviting visual that best encapsulates the song by incorporating two colours for the entire visual: blue and orange. Given that it is best assumed that the colour blue is representative of sorrow and loneliness and that orange is something reminiscent of joy and happiness, the overall look and feel of the cover art was something that aimed to give insight into the irony of experiencing the warmth of love in undesirable circumstance. Midway through the project, I was also commissioned to work on the video launch's tickets and event poster. For the ticket, I aimed to liven up the minor details of a typical gig/concert ticket and enrich every important piece of information.
