Over the course of ten days, I was taught the various joineries that existed in furniture making. Further I was encouraged to make products using those joineries. In the course I also familiarised myself with the tools in wood working and furniture making. I was also taught about the types of wood, the grain of the wood, and how to put it to the best use. Most of the wood used here is recycled from the wood used to package boxes.
The different furniture joineries we learnt included the mitre joint, the half lap joint, the mortise joint, the dovetail joint and the various types of kinetic joineries.
