Το κόνσεπτ για την φετινή διοργάνωση έχει σαν κεντρικό στοιχείο το ελληνικό φως ως ένα μέσο συνδιαλλαγής, διάδρασης και επικοινωνίας με τον άνθρωπο και το περιβάλλον του. Κεντρικό στοιχείο πίσω από το κόνσεπτ για την φετινή διοργάνωση #GDGE2018 είναι το (ελληνικό) φως ως ένα μέσο συνδιαλλαγής, διάδρασης και επικοινωνίας με τον άνθρωπο και το περιβάλλον. Το φώς που μέσα από τις φυσικές μεταβάσεις (π.χ. νύχτα - μέρα) μεταμορφώνει τις φόρμες, δημιουργεί ή λειτουργεί αφαιρετικά, χρωματίζει και αποκαλύπτει, μέσα από την ψευδαίσθηση καμία φορά, την πραγματικότητα και γιατί όχι και την αλήθεια.
