Over the course of ten days, through a project, I was taught the various facets of Human centred Design Research. My group and I took libraries as an area to look into. We looked into the relationship that libraries had with the people around them, the interactions between a user and the librarian and the library, and how the advent of the internet has affected libraries. Through secondary and primary research we were able to gather a significant amount of data. After doing affinity mapping and qualitative analysis, we came up with insights about libraries in Yelahanka, Bangalore, and other libraries in general. As a group we aimed to look into how we could improve upon the experience that a person has at a library. Through our research we were able to gather that there is an imminent need for libraries to evolve in the future to become communal spaces for information exchange through human interaction, rather than just a place to store information.
