This design was one that I created to submit in the SkillsUSA pen design competition in the year of 2016. The year before I had won the state competition for photography, but I could not stop thinking about the pen design comp and what I would have like to submit if I had the chance too. I can recall thinking as I was leaving that year's competition what I would draw up and that I said it would be a winner.  The above sketch was the outline of my design and below you will find the final submission I did for the Pen design the next year.

After help with some of the elements from my instructor, I offered this as my final design and it won. I was so happy that they picked my design. I know that it would be made into a real pen and traded at the National competition, and shared with others from around the US.
