Every year, the final year architecture students of School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi put forward a semester-worth of research in the form of presentations and research papers. Myself with a team of 4 other students were responsible for developing a graphical theme and merchandise for the event in the academic session 2015-2016.
"F5 Urbanity", as a theme for the Seminar Series, embodies an attempt at a refreshed take on architecture and the city.
The graphics for the event was an extensive exercise, and was done in a team of 5. For the main concept graphic, we came up with the idea of dividing the sheet into a grid of 4x6. With each square representing one of the 23 teams that were going to present their seminar on the topic.
All the teams were asked to create a square illustration for the grid. the illustration was supposed to represent their topic of exploration in the seminar. Illustrations received in form of sketches and digital art were all arranged in a grid as can be seen in the last photo below.
All the illustrations were digitized and were put together to create one cohesive city, a city which represented all the topics that were being presented in the seminar
The schedule for the event was a visual mock-up of the keyboard with the 'F5' key highlighted, representing F5 Urbanity.
Various other mediums were created like promotional posters, notepad covers, flex banners, e-mailers and the Seminar book using the 2 posters above as the central theme.
