whynotassociates is a londoner graphic studio founded by David Ellis, Andy Altmann and Howard Greenhalgh.
It has been curated the copywriting and the book design of a short monograph and retrospective on which there have been documented some of the most interesting projects and works since the establishment of the studio in 1987.
The studio occupy a pivotal position on the experimental wing of British graphic design, a new wave of energy and invention in British typography and graphics firmly rooted in local traditions and culture.
Opening whit a brief introduction on the formation of the why not associates, the book is divided into four sections which are the main design areas of the graphic studio: motion, print, identity and environmental.
