As part of an incredibly in-depth and multifaceted 3D graphic for an international telecommunications company, I was tasked to learn a new 3D modeling program to provide support to Brobel Design's Art Director. Being well-versed with other 3D programs, such as Rhino and Fusion 360, I was quick to pick up Lightwave and learn new ways to render materials. Below is one of the several scenes I built, using a combination of custom built objects and assets purchased from the web.

The challenges for this scene were fitting a convincing variety and quantity of tools and objects that could be found in a body shop, yet still keeping the scene minimalist and representational because of the nature of the project. Working only off of a sketch from the Art Director, I had to choose what details were essential to conveying the scene.

Below is the sketch I work off of, as well as the main body shop purchased from Turbo Squid I had as a starting point.

This tool cart and peg board was a combination of purchased and custom built objects. The challenge for this section was compiling the assets in such a way it seemed natural and not too rigid, yet organized enough that it is not visually distracting from the overall scene.

Additional considerations for this scene was the wide variety of surfaces it contains. For example, beyond the various metals and plastics used in the tools, I also accounted for the interior and exterior refraction indexes of glass to create the correct visual  appearance in the render.
