A MOTHER’S TALE
A Mother’s Tale’ captures in depth personal accounts about the highs and lows women face each day as parents. We delve into the lives of ten strong women. A singleton, never married and left to raise a child alone, a divorcee whose struggles made her even more determined to succeed as a mother, and a woman who always intended to have a family, but was then devastated to learn that she was unable to conceive.
These are merely a few of the situations with which women are commonly faced. Have you ever wondered what constitutes a good parent? Who determines what is and is not an acceptable age for a woman to act on her maternal instinct? Sometimes such choices aren’t even offered to us!
So what really constitutes a good mother? Is it the biological parent whose nurturing commences in the womb, but to whose undeniable selflessness her body bears witness? Or a step-mother, who lovingly adopts the mother’s role and raises a child through life, as if it were her own? There are no right or wrong answers; the final judgement is in the outcome for the child.
We seldom have an easy ride in life and being a parent can be immensely trying, but a mother’s determination to battle through hardships can exempt her children from struggling so hard in their future life.
No matter how different a mother’s journey, one certainty remains; we strive for a happy and healthy childhood for our children, and an easier and more enjoyable future for us all!
