Alice In Wonderland

Alice In Wonderland was the blueprint of the work. I believed that everyone were familiar with the story. Everytime, when I read the story, I always trapped into it just like Alice. I had many imagines about the scences of the story. By this work, I turned these imagines into truth. Furthmore, before creating this work, I draw a painting. It was what I saw in my mind.

Alice ran after Mr. rabbit from its home. However, she lost her way in the forest. She didn’t know that she had started a magical journey.

Process of making

Making method

First, we devided the model into 17 parts, and we made front view of each part be printed on a paper. A part mean a layer of Styrofoam. We stuck the paper on the Styrofoam, and cut the Styrofoam in base of the front view. After gluing 17 parts together, the original model was finished.

Enhance

For the strength of the model, there were three layers of FRP covering its surface. However, it was a difficult mission, because some parts’ curvature were too tight to be covered the frabic glass. We had to finish it by incredible paitence, and we had really did it.

Wonderland is a children lounge chair, and be inspired by the classic story, Alice In Wonderland. It has a colorful surface and funny shape. It’s appropiate for children room. Furthermore, its cushion is composed of bean bags. When users lie down it, they will trap inside the chair. It’s a image which is about Alice trapped inside her dream.
