This collection is based upon the Craftspeople who have worked with Indigo's distinctive range of Blues for thousands of year.
With the increasing importance of blues both as core tones but also as an evolving fashion colour, I look at Global Indigo techniques for inspiration with a contemporary and modern approach.
Thought to have originated in India, this complicated fermentation of Leaves into an amber liquid that dyes cloth first green and then after oxidation, Blue, gradually spread across the World.
From 1 atelier to the next, Indigo is never quite the same, with subtle differences created by different processes and tastes.
"In the hands of natural dye practitioners around the world, ancient Indigo and Shibori  creates diverse effects that inspire rich tones of Blue."
