Mauer is a font family inspired by Berlin and the wall that separated this city in two between 1961 and 1989.
The family includes three variations of display fonts, all composed of extended and all-caps, massive characters, based on the history of the wall.
"Mauer 1961" - the Berlin Wall stands massively between West and East Berlin. The font is impenetrable, with very few openings.
"Mauer 1989" - On November 9th, 1989, the wall finally falls. The font begins to deteriorate.
"Mauer 2019" - Parts of the wall still stand in Berlin, as a commemoration of that period in history. The font is now frail and barely standing.
This font family was thought specifically for the 30th commemoration of the fall of the Berlin Wall, that will be held November 2019.
