Peachy Keen Peach Festival Brand Identity

Before setting my goals in Graphic Design, I had been interested in Collision Repair, which is completely different from the world of design. Yet, the two of my interests have similar foundations. Design can have many outfits; it can be hidden in automotive and obvious in the digital, which we experience in our daily lives through newspapers, posters, packaging, and billboards. Working hands-on can also have many meanings, of which I have discovered two. I would have never thought that one-day my hands-on approach to design would live in the digital applications, but design is everywhere and in everything, connecting everyone.

Peachy Keen Peach Festival was created in a short-term identity branding project in my Identity Systems class. We had the freedom of either recreating logo for a current festival/event, or we had the option to create our own festival, which I chose to do. Every project always starts with research, so I studied our local peach festival and larger national peach festivals to get a better understanding of what is most important to this type of festival. I notice colors, packaging, and hand-made graphics were of popularity. Then I took my sketchbook, getting ideas down on paper and reducing ideas to my strongest pieces. My color scheme was inspired by actual peaches and complementary colors, hoping to achieve a bright, cheery, "peachy-keen" summer feeling.
